Frequently asked questions
Do I need an account to sign a petition?
No. Anyone can sign with just a name and email. An account is only needed if you want to start your own petition — that way we have a way to reach you about it.
Is my email shown publicly?
No. Your email is only used to prevent duplicate signatures and, if needed, to contact you about a petition you've signed. Only your name (and comment, if you leave one) is shown publicly.
What's the difference between my name and my display name?
Your full legal name is kept private and never shown publicly. Your display name is what appears next to any petition you start (e.g. "Filed by ___") — you choose what that says when you sign up.
How does review work?
Every new petition is checked by a real person before it's published. We're looking for a clear, genuine ask — vague or duplicate submissions are the most common reason for rejection.
Is this site affiliated with any government or political party?
No. Voice & Ballot is an independent public register. We don't take a position on any individual petition — the views expressed belong to whoever filed it.
Can I remove my signature?
Contact us with the petition link and the email you signed with, and we'll remove it.
How do I share a petition?
Every petition has its own page and its own link. Open any petition and use the "Share this petition" box for a copy-link button and one-tap sharing to WhatsApp, X, Facebook, or email.
